Treatments
The Cranley Clinic was the first Dermatology clinic in the UK to successfully treat patients with both Thermage Radiofrequency (to tighten and lift) and Fraxel Resurfacing (to rejuvenate, tighten and repair skin). This winning combination of advanced anti ageing treatments consistently delivers outstanding results for all of our patients.
The pioneering laser department at the Cranley Clinic features the most advanced sophisticated lasers and lights for many skin problems. Treatments include skin resurfacing, scar treatment, eyelid rejuvenation and smoothing fine lines, with maximum safety for the patient.
Dr Lowe developed Ultrapulse Laser Skin Resurfacing over 15 years ago. His Clinics remain at the cutting edge, again pioneering the latest Fraxel lasers. The latest Cranley Clinic laser treatment is now more reliable and precise than other methods of rejuvenation such as chemical peels, dermabrasion and less sophisticated lasers.
Dr. Lowe is one of the pioneers in the use of lasers for skin rejuvenation. He published one of the first of a series of scientific papers on this subject and continues to be at the forefront of research on laser skin therapy. He has published a textbook on laser therapy for doctors and is a founding editor of the Journal of Cosmetic and Laser Therapy, a medical journal widely read by specialists.
Fraxel lasers known as 'fractional resurfacing' (hence 'Fraxel Laser') safely restores ageing and sun damaged skin.
This works by microscopic laser columns penetrating deep into the dermis to create tiny wounds, which trigger your body's natural response system to heal those wounds. This process expedites your body's remodeling of collagen and elastin, which results in tighter, fresher, younger looking skin.
The Fraxel lasers are ideal for a wide variety of skin ageing and other disorders. They can be used safely on delicate skin areas such as the neck, back, legs, chest and back of hands. Fair/light to darker skin colours can be treated successfully.

The range of Fraxel Treatments varies:
The milder Fraxel Restore laser is ideal for treatment of skin darkening, fine wrinkles, some scars, stretch marks and most body areas.
The more agressive Fraxel is called the Fraxel Repair Laser which is the most reliable and sophisticated version of the Carbon Dioxide laser. This new Fraxel Repair laser produces similar benefits as the conventional CO2 laser skin resurfacing but without the associated downtime, anaesthesia and lengthy recovery period. This has been approved by the health authorities in the USA and Europe.
Doctors Nick and Phillipa Lowe have installed the latest Fraxel Laser System at the Cranley Clinic. The Fraxel Dual is so named because it has two wavelengths of light - i.e. DUAL one wavelength (1550 nm) of light is responsible for skin rejuvenation, tightening, reduction of pores and surface skin lifting and tightening. The second wavelength (1927 nm) is ideal for treating patients with skin surface changes e.g. brown discoloration such as melasma (mask of pregnancy) sunspots (solar lentigo). This wavelength acts superficially on the outer skin (epidermis) and therefore targets the area where disfiguring pigmentation can occur.
