ThermaCool CPT™ for skin lifting and tightening

Dr Lowe was the first certified practitioner in the UK to offer this radio-frequency treatment and uses the latest Thermage System, ThermaCool CPT™ (Comfort Pulse Technology System). There is a special device in the new system that reduces discomfort and allows higher radiofrequency energies to be used so therefore produces greater skin and under skin tightening. In addition, there are a wide range of treatment tips that allow us to treat precisely different areas from the eyelids, local areas of face, whole areas of the face and neck and very large areas such as stomach, arms and thighs. This non-surgical procedure is fast and requires little downtime from normal activities.

The action of the ThermaCool CPT™ causes the deep structures of the skin to immediately tighten and over time collagen is produced in turn tightening the skin further.  Some patients will see very noticeable improvement from one treatment and published studies show that the skin tightening improvements continue for at least six months after a single treatment session.  Other studies show that skin collagen changes can last several years, depending on the rate of the ageing process.

There is a strong possibility that this system may help to reduce the appearances of cellulite, as it is capable of tightening the fibrous strands under the skin, which may be a form of cellulite. Some anecdotal observations suggest this to be helpful to reduce cellulite.

The completely new systems are a first in the UK and can be used by themselves or together to rejuvenate the skin surface and tighten under the skin e.g. face, neck, arms, thighs. They can also be used by some patients in combination with Botulinum Toxins, volume replacement such as skin fillers and for the maintenance of skin surface rejuvenation with products from Dr Nick Lowe's skincare range.

How does the ThermaCool CPT™ procedure work?
The procedure works by using mono-frequency radiofrequency technology to heat collagen fibers deep in the skin and underlying tissue.  The new ThermaCool CPT™ system has an improved, more uniform heating action than the original Thermage. The structures in the skin and underlying tissue are immediately tightened while stimulating collagen growth. Over time, new and remodeled collagen is produced to further tighten and contour the skin.

What makes the new procedure more comfortable?
The ThermCool CPT™ system incorporates proprietary Comfort Pulse Technology™ including a new vibrating hand piece and scientifically advanced treatment tips. The Comfort Pulse Technology™ delivers energy more efficiently through the new system to the area being treated while the redesigned face and body tips distribute heat more efficiently.  The new vibrating hand piece also provides a more comfortable experience.
