I was delighted be invited to the hugely successful event for Cosmetic Executive Women (CEW) at the House of Commons, hosted by HSBC.
‘The Shape of Things to Come’ was a rallying call for politicians to get behind the British beauty industry, a cause I fully support. The British beauty industry is worth a staggering £17billion to the UK economy and employs over one million people. We were all there to celebrate and promote the importance of the beauty industry to the UK economy and engage the Government in a conversation on how we could work to grow.
The meeting was excellent. Hosted by Iain Wright MP, along with Caroline Neville, CEW (UK) and Carol Bagnald, HSBC Regional Commercial Director, London, I talked with various key beauty industry leaders as well Lord Digby Jones, who had given a stimulating speech to encourage all in new ventures.
Caroline Neville rightly spoke of the global respect for British beauty products, comparing their style and innovation with that of the British fashion houses. She called for the Government to do more to export our products and secure a larger share of the global beauty market. CEW (UK) are kick starting this campaign, which I am very proud to be a part of.
