I have just returned from a most enjoyable trip to the University of Manchester. I was invited as the expert to present on the ‘Cosmetic uses and complications of Botulinum Toxins’ as part of the residential week for the MSc course in cosmetic treatments and science. An excellent course organised by Dr Griffiths and colleagues at the University.

It is always a privilege to be invited to share my knowledge but I particularly enjoy talking to the Skin Specialist Physicians, Dermatologists and Plastic Surgeons of the future. I strongly advocate that anyone considering cosmetic procedures consults with such a specialist. They have the training and expertise to offer the safest and most informed treatment recommendations for the patient.

I recorded a lecture and video on the use of Sculptra which will form part of the course. Sculptra is the ideal solution to replace the volume we lose from our cheeks as we age, making our lower face drop. Sculptra stimulates the tissue giving lift and reducing lines to give a more youthful appearance. It is also a valuable treatment for post acne scars.

I also demonstrated how to use Emervel HA filler to lift the lower face, accentuate cheek bones and fill lower face lines. This can be an immediate result while waiting for the Sculptra to provide longer term improvement.

The Manchester University MSc course will be the gold standard for training in aesthetic treatments.

Thank you everyone in Manchester for making me feel so welcome.
