Smooth your rough arms, legs and thighs
Keratosis Pilaris is the medical name for the rough skin spots often on the upper arms, thighs and buttocks. About 30% of us have this skin problem. They are actually thickened bumps around tiny hair follicles.
Why do they occur?
The outer skin layers thicken around hair follicles and do not shed as quickly as the surrounding skin. This results in the scaly plugs.
What to not do
Too much exfoliation and rigorous scrubs can give more skin redness and dryness.
Soaps, detergents and washes dry out your skin and make it rougher.
What you can do to help this
Use acclenz™ Pore Refining Polish when taking a shower to help gently smooth the bumps. It contains environmentally friendly microbeads. You can also use a moisture lotion shower wash such as Cetaphil or Dermol 500.
After showering, for the redness and for more skin smoothing, you can also apply acclenz™ Blemish Serum after showering and also before bed. Both of these products contain a time release salicylic acid for smoother skin and the skin soothing ingredients niacinamide and antioxidants.
