The Cranley Clinic - Experts in Acne Treatments

In response to an increased number of patients attending with teenage and adult acne we have introduced an Acne Clinic every Thursday between 4.30-7.30pm. Patients will be able to make last minute appointments for consults on new and existing acne flare-ups, or to discuss treatment programmes.

The Cranley Clinic has designed a combination of different treatments, personalised for your skin type, which will help you to improve the condition and boost your confidence. Each course of treatment is to suit your individual skin type. The course takes approximately four months during which time your reaction and progress will be carefully monitored and adjusted throughout the course.

Treatments Include:

Isolaz: Positive energy builds in the treatment tip and switches to negative pressure when complete contact on the skin is achieved. The sebaceous gland is elevated helping release congested sebum. This in affect helps reduce the sebaceous gland, reducing sebum production. The released sebum is wiped away and the skin returns to normal position.

DermaSweepThe DermaSweep uses a variable-level vacuum system and an assortment of treatment tips. Using the appropriate selected application tip, it gently lifts the skin removing the top layer and vacuums away the dead skin into a HEPA filter in a controlled manner. The skin is left smoother as the vacuum action of the wand stimulates blood flow, cleans the pores and removes the skin debris. The increased blood flow to the skin's surface encourages collagen, firms and tones the top layer of skin (epidermis).

Salicylic Acid PeelBeneficial in improving acne. As the peel removes dead cells on the surface of your skin, your skin will appear smoother and the acne lesions reduced. The appearance of enlarged pores and acne-induced scars will be improved too.

The Omnilux Revive Red Light Treatment: The Omnilux Revive Red Light Treatment is an intense visible light source of high spectral purity. It delivers a precise wavelength of visible red light that penetrates deep into the skin to reduce the redness, swelling and pain that occurs with acne. The red light also stimulates fibroblast activity to naturally boost the production of collagen which, in turn, can help the overall appearance of the skin. Patients benefit from having treatments once or twice a week and are able to continue with their antibiotic and / or Roaccutane medication quite safely. The Omnilux Revive Red Light Treatment is safe for pregnant woman and for breastfeeding mothers.

Cortisone Injections: Cortisone (steroid) injections are used to treat painful acne lumps (nodules and cysts) underneath the skin. These conditions can take weeks to resolve on their own and on average, after a cortisone injection, it can take 24 – 48hrs for the lumps to flatten and for the pain to subside. By treating these early with injections it may reduce the risk of scarring.
